A pioneering laser treatment which could cut the risk of drug-resistant infections after operations is being trialed for the first time in the UK. A six-month NHS pilot will see 500 patients given Ondine Biomedical’s Steriwave nasal photodisinfection at Pontefract Hospital in West Yorkshire.
